What is SILLYSOIL?
SILLYSOIL is an adventurous venture by The Green Corner, designed to offer what we believe are the finest potting mixes. The potting mixes you see from SILLYSOIL have been thoroughly tested, and we are confident in their effectiveness.
SILLYSOIL Perlite is crafted from a type of volcanic glass with a high water content. It is rapidly heated to around 850-900°C and then crushed into perlite. This makes it ideal for applications where improved aeration, drainage, and moisture retention are desired. Its sterile and lightweight nature makes it versatile and beneficial for a wide range of plants and gardening techniques.
They comes in various porosity levels, grain sizes, and water retention capacities, resulting in a balanced, well-draining mix that maintains optimal moisture for your plant roots. This blend promotes healthy plant respiration.
When should I use SILLYSOIL Perlite?
SILLYSOIL Perlite can be used on its own or combined with other substrates like peat moss, coir, or compost to enhance its benefits. It is also highly recommended for propagation due to its ability to prevent waterlogging and reduce the risk of root rot in cuttings, encouraging healthy plant growth.
